Slide Show on Local Scale Composting

Food Scraps and Composting Forum, West End Community Centre, 11 am to 12:30 on June 16. Featured speaker Liz Blakeway presented findings to date on her masters research about how policy affects food and organic waste collection and composting at municipal, regional, and national levels of government in Canada and overseas. She discussed various models and systems for composting. Local West End cases were introduced. Liz says there is now an opportunity to transform waste management in the Lower Mainland of BC. We can be part of that transformation. Below are slides from her presentation, entitled “Local Scale Composting — Opportunities, possibilities, policy and research.” Persons wishing further information, or wishing to use any part of her presentation are requested to contact her for permission at (Hover your mouse over the image to stop, advance, or back up.)
